Electrical & charging

Batteries, alternators, wiring faults, corroded grounds, and electronics installs. Chasing intermittent faults is a specialty.

Marine electrical faults are where boats go to gather dust: intermittent, invisible, and immune to parts-cannon repair. Salt air corrodes connections from the inside, and the fault that appears at the helm usually lives three feet away under a deck fitting.

What we handle

No-crank and slow-crank starting problems, batteries and battery switches, alternator and stator charging faults, corroded grounds and terminal blocks, bilge pump circuits, navigation and anchor lights, helm rewiring, and electronics installs — fishfinders, GPS, VHF, stereos — done to ABYC-informed standards with marine-grade tinned wire, proper crimps, and heat-shrink. No household wire nuts, ever; on a boat they are a fire looking for a date.

Chasing intermittents is the specialty

"It works sometimes" is the most expensive sentence in marine electrics — unless the person chasing it is methodical. Voltage-drop testing across every connection in the offending circuit finds the corroded joint that visual inspection misses. It is slower than guessing and far cheaper than replacing parts until something changes.

Batteries in the Florida heat

Heat kills batteries faster than cold ever does. If yours are more than three or four summers old and the boat sits, load testing them before they strand you is a ten-minute job we do as part of any electrical visit.
